LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. Nomos (Silver, 21 mm, 6.61 g, 12 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple pendant earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΜΕΤΑ Barley ear with leaf to left; above leaf, [pair of tongs]; below leaf, [ΑΘΑ]. HN Italy 1583. Johnston Class C, 4.28. Nicely toned. Some pits and scratches, otherwise, very fine.
